Dear Lord,

Please give me plenty of milk and tuna and gooshy food and all the other things a growing kitten needs. Please keep meals plentiful and regular.

Please make sure there is always a willing hand to rub my tummy and scratch behind my ears. Please do not let it rub my fur the wrong way.

Please remind my mommy and my littermates that I am small and special. Remind them that they can't paw and claw at me because I hurt easily. They cannot play with me as roughly as they play with each other.

Please fill the house with warm sunbeams and cool tile floors. Make the roof keep the water out of my bed and put it in the magic ponds where it belongs.

Please remind me that jumping in the toilet bowl is never a good idea.

Please make sure my life is always full of big fluttering things to bat my paw at and small shiny things to stare at.

Please help me catch the birds that live behind the strange bright window that lights up the living room at night. Help me play with the pretty cat who lives behind the shiny glass that stands in the bedroom. I can see her, but when I go around behind, she's gone.

Please keep me safe from the dogs and birds and mean people. I'm just a kitten, lost in a world much too big for me.
