I've been playing this game (Unknown Tales) since the age of 9. Back then I had an Amstrad with 64K memory. Nowadays I'm playing it using Dosemu with Debian GNU/Linux. If you have never tried it out and you are a RPG fan - this is a MUST DO!

The Bard's Tale series was one of the best and most influenetial game series of all time. Part IV is a MUST! And if I have a vote, I think the game system should be patterned after the Baldur's Gate games.

Bard's Tale introduced me to serious computer games. It had a plot, it was challenging, and it make you think. I still have my original maps I made many many years ago. I spent many an hour playing it and its sequels. Please continue the tradition in quality and fun. Please create Bard's Tale IV. .

I've just discovered yesterday the classic "The Bard's Tale":it's a game who MERIT a modern sequel! Why don't do an amateur sequel,if an original production is impossible? Sorry for my bad english!

Bard's Tale I was the very first game I ever bought back in 1985 for my Commodore 64 and was what started my computer fantasy game addictions. I don't know how many countless hours I spent playing it....along with part II & III. I couldn't get enough. I would love to see a part IV!. Signed!

I'm 33 years old and I work, in London, for a large US Securities company. I have a responsible job but I'm still a kid at heart. The Bard's Tale was the first RPG I played on my C64 and I will always hold it dear in my heart. A B.T. IV is a must. Just reading this site I feel the need to travel to Mangar's castle and fight 99 Berzerkers, 99 Berzerkers, 99 Berzerkers and 99 Berzerkers.

The InXile title was fun, and a great rib at many rpg cliche's, but aside from the fact the main character happened to be a Bard, there was no real connection between this game and the "Bard's Tale" name. If the name obviously sparks enough interest to warrant further copyright, it's worth looking into more than just "spiritual" successors such as this one.

Please do not bring back Bard's Tale. I'm still recovering from Bard's Tale One. My lawyers will be in touch for the gross overstepping of El Cid and his adventurer's actions.

The list goes on. Just kidding. BRING BACK BT!

I've been playing Bard's Tale (1,2 & 3) since 1989, on everything from a C-64 to a modern PC running W2K(via DOSbox). In the last year I've introduced my daughter to the gang from the Adventurers' Guild, I've a suspicion that many more of us diehard fans/gamers have done the same. It's well past due that Bard's Tale should have a fourth episode, please add my name to the petition!

Oh god, yes PLEASE! But skip the futuristic crap of the thief of fate, ok? Thanks. ;-) Funny thing is, in 1986, when we were all oblivious of the inner workings of a game and didn't have the internet to help us when we got stuck, it took me and a friend 3 months to finish the game, and we played many hours every night. There has rarely been a game since that took me longer than a week to finnish. Bard's Tale IV is about the only thing EA could do to restore my faith in them after canceling UO2.

I've been a gamer since the first bards tale, but less so of late as the style of games has changed to accomodate a shorter attention span- picked up a pc version of the coin and cleavage for $6 at a discount store because it came packaged with the first 3 bard's tale games, which I've been replaying of late.REAL rpg's just aren't happening anymore, and walkthroughs and strategy guides would possibly undo them if there were...I'm awed at the turnout in support of a bard's tale sequel. This may sound crazy, but if we put together a collaborative effort of volunteers, it could be well done by people who loved the originals rather than demographic concerned gaming execs- then we could approach the publisher with a product, petition, and fan base needing only licensing, polish, and distribution, thus cutting most critical r&d costs and making it plausible.Count me in.Anyone with game design or coding skills up for it?

When I was just 3 years old, my father and I played BT 1, 2 and 3 for hours, and my father talked how much he played this game with his friend and how much time they spent on those games. 2 Years later, I got my own PC with DOS, and I played those games with my father and his friend, and those were the happiest days of my life (as a gamer, that is). Please bring back Bard's Tale, but don't ruin it. Bard's Tale IV is a MUST!

I had played Wizardy on the Apple // in high school and later Bard's Tale. The big thing about Bard's Tale was importing characters from Wizardy. I was so excited. I was even more excited when the Commodore Amiga version came out with all of the colors and an easier to use interface. I still have an Amiga 500 with Bard's Tale running on it. Sometimes I play it with an emulator. I would pay money to get a good Windows or Linux version of Bard's Tale with all the color and sounds of modern hardware and an easy to use interface. Bard's Tale IV is not enough for me, rewrite I, II, and III for Windows, Linux, Mac OSX, and other modern operating systems. Bring back Bard's Tale Construction Set as well so we can create our own games.

The Bard's Tale series is one of the finest RPG's ever made. I first played Bards tale 2 on my commodore 64 back in 88 since than I have loved RPG's, when the new Bards Tale was released several years ago I was thouroughly disapointed. Please go back to the origional format make Bards Tale 4

The Bard's Tale series is one of the finest RPG's ever made. My son and I first played Bards Tale 2 on my commodore 64 back in 88. The time we spent playing BT2 & BT3 was the best. I have tried other RPG's, and always end up comparing them to the Bards Tale series. Please bring back the Bard in the original format. I personaly enjoyed BT2 the most.

I would buy 5 copies of BT4 if it is made just to support the cause. Bard's Tale the original, was the best game ever made as far as I am concerned. Had it for my Amiga500, and I've never been so immersed in a game in my life. Whoever was behind the story of these games was a genius. Gameplay like that just doesn't happen in todays games, they don't even come close.

Please make a Bard's Tale IV! I did not like the inXile version of The Bard's Tale at all - it held no resemblance to the original trilogy. I want to port my Bard's Tale III characters into it!

"Downgraded" a spare computer just so that I could replay the old classics. BT I was, and is still, one of my all time favorite games (I purchased the "new" console game with the same title for my XBox and was extremely disappointed to find that it wasn't the same game). Good luck and hope to see the game out there sometime soon!

I have bought & played Bard's Tale 1 & 2 when they first came out in the 80's. I played them with my older brother. I loved leveling up & exploring the dungeons, mapping them out. I have tried the 3rd game of the series & the new PC game & think these games are getting better every time a new game comes out. This game series is the best gaming I've ever played. I am a committed gamer that'll play this game series forever.

Recently after playing abunch of these new games I said to myself... "Jeeze only 10 hours to complete this game? Where's the challenge and replay value? Well the graphics atleast look pretty." Seems every game that comes out now is just about the visuals, ya its pretty, but the game/storyline plain stinks and you can easily beat them over the weekend. They even try to make up for it by throwing in Multiplayer so maybe that will hold your interest past 2nd day. I can only name 2 game lines that really challenged me over the years... Wizardry and Bard's Tale. Id LOVE to get my hands on a remake or next volume, Id be happy (and prefer) if it had the same type of 1st person town view with new art for the clases and monsters that attack, attack rolls (Action/RPGs just plain suck), random treasure off each corpse, and the grooling challenge. I dont even want it to be 3D. Just 2D animated art like the originals (pretty art thats not giant pixels would be a plus). BRING BACK BARD'S TALE!!!
